ISEES Young Scientist Award

Preamble
The International Society for Energy,
Environment, and Sustainability was founded at IIT Kanpur in January 2014 to
spread knowledge in Energy, Environment, Sustainability, and Combustion. It
is a body of the most distinguished engineers and scientists from the entire
spectrum of the engineering professions in the Government, R&D Laboratories,
Academia, and Industry from/within India and abroad.
In this changing environmental scenario, the time has come when more
emphasis has to be laid on renewable energy resources. Moreover, in this
dynamic scenario of swelling competition and reducing profits, staying
environmentally responsible can be highly challenging for any organization.
More efficient systems must be developed to meet the increasing energy
demands keeping in mind its environmental impact. People have to become more
aware and concerned about the environmental challenges which the world is
facing today to make it a better place for us and our future generations.
The Society aims to spread knowledge in the areas mentioned above among
people and make them more aware of the environmental challenges which the
world is facing today. Society is involved in various activities in the
domains mentioned above, like workshops, seminars, conferences, etc. The
Society also recognizes young scientists and engineers for contributing to
this field. To promote the pursuit of excellence in the field of ‘Energy and
environmental sustainability,’ the Society instituted the ISEES Young
Scientist Award in 2015. The executive committee makes the selection for
this prestigious Award of the Society based on prescribed criteria.
1. Purpose of the Award
To recognize outstanding achievements /contributions made by Young Engineers
in the fields of Energy, Environment, Sustainability and Combustion.
2. Eligibility
Any individual not older than 35 years as on the 1st January
2023.
3. Validity
A candidate may be nominated for two successive years, subject to his/ her
age not exceeding 35 years.
4. Criteria
Engineering research, excellence in engineering design, technology
development and technology transfer.
5. Call for Nominations
Nominations are invited from engineers
working in academia, government, R&D laboratories, and industry. The sponsor
must be either a Fellow of ISEES, Member of the Executive Committee, or Head
of the Organization/ Institution where the nominee is working.
The nominations are to be sent on A-4 size paper in the prescribed format
(Click here), and the same has to be uploaded on the prescribed
google form available on
the website. (Ink-signed copies of the nominations are to be sent in case
the same has been downloaded from the ISEES website).
6. Selection Procedure
The shortlisted nominees will be invited to make a presentation followed by
an interaction with the Selection Committee on dates to be announced later.
7. Last Date for Nomination
Online needs to be done via google form on
and before 25th
September 2023. The last date of receipt of the hardcopy nomination is also
30th
September 2023.
8. The Award
The award shall consist of a citation, a plaque and a cash prize of Rs.
25000.
The decision of the ISEES Council shall be final and binding.
